This is no joke. We are two journalism students attending one of the best J schools in the country and learning everything we need to know to rock your socks off in print, radio and TV news. This is our journal of what we do, what we learn and maybe even a little bit about the fun times we have along the way. OK – maybe this is a joke.

Change of plans

Hi! This is Aubrey and I am NOT breaking the rules, but I am initiating a change in plans. I know we promised some cool graphics work this week, and we’ll come back to that, but I thought it was important that I replied to some comments in Ezekiel’s off-schedule and unfair post (unfair in his comments about me, not about the former Illinois governor).

Speaking of Rod, apparently he’s going down swinging. I’m not sure that anything will come from this, but I’m also not sure that it isn’t true. I’m always glad when I look around and see how my state is just one big pot of nepotism and corruption and I wonder if they’ll ever do anything about it.

And for the record, despite Ezekiel’s comments, I want everyone to know that I do NOT have sympathies for corrupt politicians any more than I have sympathies for the White Sox (Go Cubbies!). I want to get rid of corrupt politicians just like everybody else.

Good luck, Gov. Quinn, indeed.

XOXO Aubrey

First post!

Hi, I’m Aubrey.

And I’m Ezekiel.

If you’re here, you probably read the top of the page already. And if you haven’t, you should. It explains how everything works.

And if at any time you feel like getting off this wild ride of a blog we have. Fine then. Be that way.

But since we know you’ll keep coming back, we’re going to update every Tuesday and Thursday, because that’s when our boring classes are and we have an hour and fifteen minutes to put to good use.

Thanks, teach.

And thank God for Gchat.

No joke. And for next week, we’ve given each other an assignment. To practice our fancy design skills, we’re going to make images of each other from scratch and post them for you to see. Audrey will post hers on Tuesday and I’ll post mine on Thursday. And we want your honest opinions and critiques. Hold nothing back.

Yup. That’s it for now, but we look forward to all of your comments on our pictures next week!

Peace out.

XOXO Aubrey and Ezekiel
